For over 60 years, Barkerville has been welcoming visitors from across the world to our historic town and park, but with the onset of the COVID-19 State of Emergency, many of those visits have been cancelled. Our planned opening date was moved from May 14, 2020 to June 18, 2020.
During May and early June, Barkerville remained closed for visitation worked hard to provide imaginative and innovative historically interpretive programming to school groups and the general public – from cyberspace!
Our virtual programming has now been suspended as we prepare for our re-opening, but we hope to offer more virtual programs again this summer. Stay tuned!

Barkervile is a popular destination for weddings, but due to the current ban on large gathering, we are unable to accommodate traditional weddings. Instead, we are pleased to offer micro-broadcast weddings, in which we can accommodate up to ten people in an on-site ceremony and broadcast a high-quality video feed to your friends and family who cannot attend in-person.
