How to Plan Your Day

Barkerville is an exceptional destination for anyone planning to travel, from near or far. Whether you are interested in gold rush history, British Columbia's settlement patterns, period theatre, or just on the lookout for a beautiful, relaxing vacation, Barkerville is the right place for you. For some people, planning in advance may be the best idea, and make the trip easier and more enjoyable. Accommodation

Barkerville has a range of accommodation available, including three on-site bed and breakfasts, as well as camping (including space for RVs) very close to the park. Find out more about these options by visiting our Where to Sleep page. In addition, the nearby town of Wells - and a little further, Bowron Lake - are well known for their hospitality, and provide a range of overnight options. When in Barkerville
There is so much to do in Barkerville that many people choose to spend two days here (second day admission is only $2). Even still, seeing everything you want could require some planning, and this website has everything you need to make your visit as easy and special as possible.

Start, first, by exploring what is available to you by visiting our Daily Activities section. Here you'll find a list of the scheduled programming that is available to you in Barkerville. Use it to get an idea of what you might like to do. Check out a sample Daily Schedule to get an idea of when and where activities happen, and build yourself a prospective itinerary for the day. Not all of the activities are appropriate for everyone, so be sure to read the descriptions and decide what is best for you and your group.

Don't forget to leave time to visit our many Merchants or take in a show at the Theatre Royal, and make sure to schedule in breakfast, lunch, or dinner at one of our Restaurants.
