How to Prepare

There is no such thing as bad weather, just the wrong clothes!

Barkerville is at an elevation of approximately 1,200m/4,000ft, nestled in the Cariboo Mountains of BC’s central interior. We get plenty of sunshine and beautiful weather, but it’s good to come prepared in case the temperature drops or rain falls.

FAQ

1. What are your hours?

Click here for town site hours
Please note: During spring season, the McGinley Family Troupe at the Theatre Royal takes Sundays off to rest up for the following week of school programming. In the summer season, Thursday’s theatre performances will be replaced by The Fred Wells Show.

2. How much time should we plan to explore Barkerville?

We recommend staying at least two days to get the full Barkerville experience. There is a lot going on between the daily programming, exhibits, shopping, and shows! For that reason, your admission is valid for two days. See our daily schedule or contact our team in the Visitors’ Reception Centre 1-888-994-3332 ext. 0 to help plan your visit.
