Visitors are welcome to walk through the streets of Barkerville between 8:00 am and 8:00 pm, 365 days a year. The amenities, exhibits, and experiences that are available during your visit will change with the seasons.

Spring & Fall

Shoulder

September 30 – December 13, 2019
April 1 – May 15, 2019

Regular exhibits, shops, eateries, and interpretations are closed, except for special holiday events. The site is open to walking and hiking visitors and private rentals such as conferences and weddings.

Visitors’ Reception Centre:
Closed (Except for Ghostly Halloween and Easter Egg Hunt events)

Historic Town:
Historic Front Street is open. Museum exhibits are closed.

Winter

December 14, 2019 – end of snow season, 2020

When snow is on the ground, Barkerville opens for the winter. The Barkerville Cafe, Shamrock Tube Run, and winter recreation rentals are available. Regular exhibits, shops, eateries, and interpretations are closed, except for the Victorian Christmas event. On-site accommodation is available in the Barkerville Cottages.

Café, Gift Store & Recreation Rentals:
Friday – Monday: 11am – 4pm 

The Shamrock Tube Run:
Saturday – Sunday: 11am – 4pm

Group Admissions

Groups of ten (10) people or larger are eligible for the group admission rates to Barkerville and Cottonwood House, which provide an approximate 25% discount off the regular rates. All group admissions must be booked at least 48 hours in advance and payment for the group must be made by a single payer. Multi-day private events such as conferences, weddings, and family reunions of are eligible for further discounts of up to 40% off regular admission. Group discounts do not apply to Family Pass or Annual Pass rates. 

Please Note:

Regular admission includes entrance to site, as well as all tours and demonstrations. Extra fees apply for stagecoach rides, Theatre Royal tickets, and gold panning lessons. Please see the Merchant Directory for more information.

Annual Pass holders may also bring up to four additional guests per visit and receive 20% off their regular admission! Annual passes include membership to the Friends of Barkerville Cariboo Goldfields Historical Society.
