Barkerville is located 88 kilometres (55 miles) east of the City of Quesnel, at the end of Highway 26.
Central Mountain Air makes daily flights into Quesnel, and Greyhound also provides daily bus service to Quesnel. Bus service from Quesnel to Wells/Barkerville is available only on Thursdays. More information about this community bus can be found here (pdf).
National Car Rental provides car rental services from Quesnel.
Cariboo Taxi provides special rates to Barkerville. They also have a special Quesnel to Wells/Barkerville shuttle on Saturdays during summer. The shuttle leaves Quesnel Safeway at 8:15am and 4:30pm, and departs Barkerville for Quesnel at 9:30am and 5:40pm. Contact Cariboo Taxi at 250-991-0007 for the most up-to-date information.

Barkerville is an eight to ten hour drive from Vancouver, following the Gold Rush Trail. To get here, follow the TransCanada Highway #1 through Hope, along the Fraser Canyon to Cache Creek. From Cache Creek, take Highway #97 North. Follow #97 through Clinton, 100 Mile House, and Williams Lake to Quesnel. Turn right onto highway #26. Follow the highway until its end (but be sure to stop at Cottonwood House and explore Wells along the way).
