2. How much time should we plan to explore Barkerville?
We recommend staying at least two days to get the full Barkerville experience. There is a lot going on between the daily programming, exhibits, shopping, and shows! For that reason, your admission is valid for two days. See our daily schedule or contact our team in the Visitors’ Reception Centre 1-888-994-3332 ext. 0 to help plan your visit.
3. What are your rates?
4. What is the weather like?
It’s variable. We get plenty of sunshine and beautiful weather but it can also get chilly. We’re at about 4,000ft elevation in the Cariboo Mountains so hope for sunshine but pack for anything!
5. Do you have a Lost & Found?
Our wonderful merchants and lovely team in the Visitors’ Reception Centre do the very best they can to ensure all lost belongings find their way back to their owner. Please call 1-888-994-3332, ext. 33 if you have lost something during your time in Barkerville.
6. Can we stay overnight in Barkerville?
Yes, you can! Barkerville is one of the few historic sites in Canada that allow overnight visitors. Check out Places to Stay for more information.
7. Is Barkerville wheelchair accessible?
Yes, we are approximately 90-95% wheelchair accessible. This includes the historic town and the three campgrounds.
8. Can we bring our pets?
For the safety of our visitors and site animals, no pets are permitted within the Barkerville town site. Service dogs are permitted with prior notification. Day use dog kennels are available next the Barkerville Administration Building and can be booked online.
If you plan to spend a few days in Barkerville and would like overnight pet boarding options, please contact our friends at Pooch Palace in Quesnel.
